Strength & Conditioning Coach

atrength_conditioning_coach_athletic_trainingIn short, when we talk about strength training and athletic conditioning, we look at the physical and physiological development of athletes for elite sport performance. Our perspective here at Comprehensive Athletic Training (CAT) is quite different than the standard approach and it is much more than lifting weights!

Our strength and conditioning programs encompass the comprehensive development of an athlete – the whole athlete: physical – mental – nutritional – spiritual.

By linking these components in a synergistic matrix, the athlete reaches their highest levels of athletic performance and remains injury free. We combine land-based exercises with shallow and deep water training and include functional exercise, free-weights, TRX, plyometrics, power movements, speed and agility modules, endurance training, core stability exercises, and dynamic flexibility to name a few.

“As a student-athlete playing Division 1 Football, Coach Holland was able to help me make great strides within a short amount of time with building strength, drills, and recovery before my season started. He is extremely passionate about what he does and he will do anything and everything, including going above and beyond to see me succeed in my dreams on the field and off.”Leighton Gasque

What separates Michael from the rest of the coaches is his caring and nurturing  attitude, and belief in you as an athlete and most importantly his knowledge to keep me injury free.”David

Long-term Benefits of CAT Strength and Conditioning Programs

The long term benefits of our strength and conditioning programs are far-reaching. The athlete, who trains with CAT, regardless of their level of participation in their sport, will have the foundation required to meet the ever-increasing and always changing physical demands of daily life. Our athletes find that they deal with stress with more flexibility and ease.

Once new habits have been entrained, it is up to each individual to ‘stay awake’ and do what they know serves them best. Ideally, the foundation we have instilled for a fully sustainable, healthy and fit lifestyle has actually influenced the chemical make-up of the body and changed their DNA. As our athletes move through life they maintain the level of health, fitness and activity they had while training with CAT. Strength training and conditioning of their body, mind and spirit has become as reflexive as breathing.
